1. The first national-scale Halal conference
On 8 July 2026 in Nha Trang, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, together with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee, held the 2026 Vietnam Halal Tourism Conference under the theme “Vietnam – A New Destination for Halal Tourism”. According to press reports, around 350 delegates attended, including diplomatic representatives from the UAE, Pakistan, Indonesia, Egypt, Qatar and Kuwait. The conference had two sessions: global Halal tourism trends and a Halal Economic Forum on trade and investment promotion between Khanh Hoa and its partners.

According to press reports, a representative of Halal Hub Vietnam said the memoranda of understanding at the conference aimed to build an integrated Halal ecosystem rather than isolated projects. Halal Hub Vietnam senior adviser Dr. H. Zuraimi Jumaat said Vietnam was already recognized globally for its strengths in agriculture, seafood, food processing, manufacturing and tourism.

5. Conclusion
A conference does not create an ecosystem on its own, but it can lay the first building blocks. From Nha Trang, pieces involving certification, tourism, logistics and the legal framework have emerged. Their value depends on whether businesses participate and connect to turn these directions into orders.
